Day 30: Lesson 1-5 Solving Absolute Value Equations

Learning Target:
Students solve absolute value equations and know the three different situations that could happen.


Essential Question(s):
What steps need to be taken when solving an absolute value equation? 

When is there no solution?
Assignment:
(on loose leaf paper, title the assignment as "Solving Absolute Value Equations")
Last slide #'s 1-12
Show all work and how you branch each absolute value into two separate equations, solve and check each!
What to know for your quiz tomorrow:
Can you identify the Domain and Range from a Discrete set of points?
Can you create a mapping diagram to illustrate a set of ordered pairs?
Can you use function notation and find f(2)? f(-2)?
Can you graph a piecewise function?
Can you write an equation in ALL forms of lines?
Can you identify x and y intercepts as ordered pairs?
Can you identify when something "is a function" or "is not a function"?
